Who it's for

Is this you?

The eager new believer

She just came to faith and wants to build rock-solid study habits from day one, before any bad ones form.

The small group leader

He leads weekly discussion but privately worries he's just recycling Sunday's sermon — he needs real interpretive tools of his own.

The longtime churchgoer

She's attended faithfully for decades but has never been taught a systematic method for studying Scripture on her own.

The Sunday school teacher

He prepares lessons every week but wants a structured, proven method to move from personal study to faithful, clear teaching.

The self-taught student

She's devoured podcasts and commentaries but craves a disciplined framework to tie it all together and make her independent.

The lay Bible teacher

He teaches adult classes and preaches occasionally — he wants the precision of seminary-trained methods without the seminary tuition.

A note from your teacher

John Neyman Jr

Maybe you've been a Christian for years — faithful in church, consistent in attendance, someone who genuinely loves God's Word — and yet when you sit down alone with your Bible, something feels missing. You read. You pray. You underline a verse or two. But you close the cover wondering if you really got it. That quiet uncertainty? I've sat with it myself, and I've watched it in the faces of hundreds of believers who were never given the tools they deserved.

That's the gap this school exists to close.

What I've built here isn't a devotional program or a survey of Bible trivia. It's a methodical, pastoral training in how to study — the kind of training that used to live only inside seminary walls. We start with the foundation: why disciplined study matters, and how to use the Thirty-Reading Method to get so familiar with a biblical book that its structure and themes begin to speak for themselves. From there, we move into the three-part inductive process — Observation, Interpretation, and Application — the same framework that careful Bible teachers have used for generations to hear the text clearly before they speak about it.

We'll go deeper than most lay Bible study ever does. You'll learn why context is king and how to honor it. You'll learn the difference between exegesis — drawing meaning out of the text — and eisegesis — reading your own ideas into it. You'll discover how to work with Greek and Hebrew word tools without pretending to be a linguist, and how to outline an entire biblical book by following the author's flow of thought. And in the final stretch, you'll learn how to take everything you've studied and shape it into a lesson you can teach — clearly, faithfully, and with real pastoral warmth — using the Neyman exposition method.

I want to be honest with you: this school will ask something of you. Thirty readings take time. A personal study notebook takes discipline. But I have seen, again and again, what happens when an ordinary believer decides to become a diligent one. The Word opens up. Confidence grows. Quiet uncertainty gives way to something much better — the deep, settled joy of a person who knows how to sit with Scripture and actually hear it.

If you're ready to move from casual reading to genuine study, I'd be honored to walk that road with you. The Bible you already own holds more than you've yet found in it. Let's go find it together.
